IRmadillo Receives Japanese Hazardous Area Certification

Keit’s IRmadillo in-line process analyser certified safe for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

Oxford, United Kingdom

Keit is delighted to announce the receipt of Japanese hazardous area (Ex) certification for the IRmadillo — Keit’s process analyser for industrial, in-line analysis of liquids. This certification confirms that the IRmadillo complies with all Japanese safety requirements for electrical equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres and authorises its use in Japan for those manufacturers requiring certification.

Rugged Analytical Instrument

Dan Wood, CEO, Keit commented “The IRmadillo FTIR spectrometer is unlike any other. It has proven to be extremely capable. It is vibration tolerant, compact and tough, built to function under challenging conditions whilst installed directly in-line to manufacturing processes”. Dan continued “It has already received other hazardous area certifications such as ATEX and IECEx. Now with this additional certification, our customers in Japan have assurance that it meets their national safety standards. It now allows them greater choices in analytical technology for safely monitoring their processes particularly for industries such as chemical and pharmaceutical that may operate in potentially hazardous environments. The IRmadillo gives them a great advantage with real-time analysis for optimisation of their manufacturing processes when safety is an issue”.

IRmadilloDiamond Receives ATEX & IECEx Certifications

Keit’s Diamond Model of In-Line Process Analyser now Ex Certified: Safe for use in Hazardous & Potentially Explosive Environments

Oxford, United Kingdom

Keit is delighted to announce the receipt of ATEX and IECEx certifications for the IRmadilloDiamond –  Keit’s process analyser with a diamond-ATR tipped probe for industrial, in-line analysis of liquids. The European and globally recognized Ex certifications confirm the IRmadilloDiamond safe for use in hazardous environments including potentially explosive ones. This is a requirement for many operators in process industries whose production processes frequently involve potentially explosive atmospheres.

The standard model of the IRmadillo (IRamdillo25) has already received Ex certifications. Now Keit’s customers can benefit from the option of a diamond-ATR model enabling those industries a choice in their analytical technology for a variety of operating environments. A distinguishing feature of the IRmadilloDiamond is the inherent hardiness of the diamond ATR to tolerate a pH range of 0 to 14, along with a natural resistance to abrasion and overall general abuse. Importantly, for all IRmadillos, the ability to remain in place in the pipework during production processes leads to a decrease in production downtime and safety issues. As a result, production managers and engineers have the information they need to monitor, control and optimize a wide range of processes in real time.

About Keit Spectrometers and the IRmadillo Analysers

Based in the Harwell Campus in South Oxfordshire, England, Keit has created the family of IRmadillo mid-infrared instruments to provide in-line process analysis of liquids over a variety of operating environments – including those most challenging. Now with two choices, the IRmadillo25 and the IRmadilloDiamond, both are Ex certified and built tough with fixed sampling probes and a vibration-tolerant design. They enable real-time chemical reaction analysis of liquids in environments that challenge standard instrumentation.

IRmadillo Receives Ex Certifications for USA & Canada

IRmadillo Ex certificate USA & Canada

Keit’s rugged process analyser certified safe for use in hazardous and potentially explosive environments

Oxford, United Kingdom: Keit proudly announces receipt of hazardous area certification in the USA and Canada for its rugged process analyser, the IRmadillo25 (Model ASM0627). Dan Wood, CEO, stated “Our standard model of the IRmadillo – the IRmadillo25 – has already received ATEX and IECEx certification for outside North America. Now with the Class 1 Division 2 marking, our North American customers operating in hazardous and potentially explosive environments can benefit from the rugged reliability of our analyzer”.

Expanding into the North American market

Dan further explained the significance of the certification “The instruments we have installed at customer locations to date have demonstrated the ease of use and low cost of maintenance that comes from using a process spectrometer with an internally static design. Achieving this certification will allow us to expand our sales further into North America and other jurisdictions that accept this hazardous environment standard”.

Innovation in Process Analytical Technology (PAT)

Dan stated “In manufacturing plants, PAT needs to provide accurate, highly specific metrics without needing complex and costly maintenance”.  He added “We have created the rugged in-line analytical instrument to provide production managers in even the most hazardous environments to benefit from the its ability to provide faster information for better yields and less waste”.
