About Keit Spectrometers

Keit Spectrometers provides rugged technology for real-time, in-line process analysis of liquids with the IRmadillo FTIR Spectrometer.  Keit spun out of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in Oxfordshire, England, and provides global clients with a solid-state solution for industrial process monitoring.  The IRmadillo’s rugged design enables manufacturing industries to make faster production decisions for reduced waste and better resource management.

Keit Hires Application Scientist Dr. Jonathon Speed

30 June 2016, Oxford, United Kingdom:  Dr. Jonathon Speed joins Keit Spectrometer in the role of Application Scientist as the company continues to expand its operations and production capabilities. Previously he held positions as Research & Development Scientist at technology companies Nexeon and Accentus Medical, and FTIR Technical Support Specialist at PerkinElmer. Dr. Speed plans to draw on his industry experience of applied spectroscopy to facilitate development of a wide range of applications for Keit’s technology.

Receiving both his Masters and his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Southhampton, UK, Dr. Speed has authored multiple publications in the field of vibrational spectroscopy for the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the American Chemical Society (ACS). Dr. Speed’s areas of expertise include nanotechnology, particle and colloid characterisation, and the use of FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) & Raman spectroscopy in material analysis and in situ characterisation of processes, and has published multiple patents in the field of surface science.

Keit Spectrometers is very pleased to have Dr. Speed join our team for advances in FTIR spectroscopy and industry applications.

About Keit Spectrometers

Spun out of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), Oxfordshire, England, Keit’s mission is to bring the analytical power of FTIR spectroscopy to the factory floor, enabling chemical engineering and production staff to make process-optimising decisions in real time. We accomplish this through the careful enhancement of a novel optical design leading to a light- weight, and rugged FTIR spectrometer. Keit’s rugged FTIR spectrometer has no moving parts and is thus inherently robust and vibration-proof. These attributes make Keit’s instrument the ideal process monitoring spectrometer for use in industrial environments.
